As the hibernating phase ends and better weather emerges, many of us feel a fresh motivation to tidy, declutter and freshen up our home spaces. But it can be hard to know what to shop for and where to start. So, we asked interior stylist @chantell.barresi to share her top tips around how to get your home ready for the spring season.
Tip #1 Refresh Your Bedding
Here’s an easy first step: Pack away your heavy, winter-flannel styled items and bring out the more seasonal appropriate pieces, like fresh cotton or linen sheets. These natural fibre fabrics are lighter and more breathable, perfect for the warmer weather that spring brings.
These simple changes can make your bedroom feel airy, bright and new, helping you sleep more comfortably as the temperature rises. You can find all your bedding and organisation essentials at Adairs and My House.
Tip #2 Add Pops of Colour
Next, pick up a bunch of fresh blooms from Woolworths and arrange them in a neutral-coloured vase for an eye-catching contrast. Fresh flowers symbolise spring and new beginnings but can also be used to create an indoor-outdoor feel and enhance any living space.
Another tip for getting your home spring ready is to swap out dark and moody colours for bright and vibrant hues. You can easily add pops of colour with inexpensive decor items, like cushions and throws from Kmart, and Adairs, which will make your lounge space look and feel more airy.
Follow these tips and visit Lake Haven Centre to get your home spring ready.
